Description
Abstract: There are many analogies between person and the universe in Afrikan thought. Afrikan creation accounts of the primordial water can be viewed as a metaphor for the womb. Indeed, creation in Afrikan thought is not seen as an event in the remote past but a continually evolving process of transformations from one state to another. In this talk, I address Afrikan concepts of creation as a metaphor for procreation (and vice versa) while showing how these concepts relate to an Afrikan understanding of the Creator.
