A so-called brain drain is not reversed simply when a skilled Afrikan person boards a flight home. The deeper work begins when knowledge is connected to institutions, younger generations, ownership, and collective priorities. That is why dialogue must be understood as infrastructure rather than ceremony.

The Open D.O.O.R. Dialogues Inaugural National Dialogue will convene on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Ghana at the University of Ghana College of Humanities. Its frame—Conversations, Opportunities, Ownership, and Repatriation—names the sequence required to turn connection into capacity.

Keynote addresses and diaspora repatriate perspectives establish context. Student recruitment and entrepreneurship spaces connect that context to pathways. Exhibitions, networking, and media engagement widen the field of collaboration. None of these elements is sufficient alone; together they can help knowledge circulate where it is needed.

The Great Brain Gain is not a talent import scheme. It is the reorganization of Black intellectual, cultural, and economic resources toward Black futures. That requires serious encounter between people who have returned, people who never left, and students preparing to inherit the consequences.

Register through the official D.O.O.R. page. Come to build the relationships through which ideas become institutions.
